Challenging Discrimination and Xenophobia with Education: A Discussion in Light of the 39th Human Rights Council Session

Education can be a tool for refugee or migrant children to integrate into their new host societies, and has the potential to empower them to lead a joyful and fruitful life. It is with this idea in mind that a panel discussion on Empowering Youth Through Education: Challenging Xenophobia, Discrimination, and Exclusion among Youth in Europe was held, reflecting on the role of education in fostering more inclusive societies and empowering youth.

Ending Violence in Early Childhood - The Role of Religious Communities

On 8 March 2018, at the margins of the 37th Human Rights Council session, Arigatou International Geneva office co-organized a side-event titled Ending Violence in Early Childhood: the Role of Religious Communities, together with the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary General on Violence against Children, the World Council of Churches, World Vision, UNICEF, and the World Health Organization. The side-event was co-sponsored by the Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations in Geneva, the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Morocco, the Permanent Mission of Uruguay, the Permanent Mission of Mexico, and the Permanent Mission of Slovenia to the United Nations.

Investing in Integrated Services to Prevent and Respond to Violence against Children: A conversation at the margins of the Human Rights Council

More than 187 people tuned in for the panel discussion “Investing in Integrated Services to Prevent and Respond to Violence against Children,” held online on 17 March 2022 at the margins of the 49th Human Rights Council.

The event was organized by the Office of the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children and the Child Rights Connect Working Group on Children and Violence, composed of 17 civil society organizations, co-convened by Arigatou International – Geneva and World Vision International.

Las contribuciones de la comunidades religiosas para poner fin a la violencia contra los niños: Una oportuna conversación al margen del Consejo de Derechos Humanos

A la luz de la 40ª sesión del Consejo de Derechos Humanos, Arigatou International organizó conjuntamente con varios aliados, un evento paralelo para celebrar el 30º aniversario de la Convención sobre los Derechos del Niño: “Poner Fin a la Violencia contra los Niños - Las Contribuciones de las Comunidades Religiosas”, el 6 de marzo de 2019. Asistieron al evento más de 100 personas y más de 20 representantes de Misiones Permanentes ante las Naciones Unidas en Ginebra.

The Contributions from Religious Communities to Ending Violence against Children: A Timely Conversation on the Margins of the Human Rights Council

In light of the 40th session of the Human Rights Council, Arigatou International co-organized together with several partners, a side event to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child: “Ending Violence Against Children – The Contributions from Religious Communities”, on 6 March 2019. The event was attended by over 100 people and more than 20 representatives from Permanent Missions to the United Nations in Geneva.
