Join us for a timely discussion on Transforming Education to Contribute to Global Citizenship and Peaceful and Inclusive Societies!

Global Education Week creates opportunities for educators, researchers, policymakers, and learners to collaboratively engage with meaningful discussions and initiatives to promote sustainable peace.

In this webinar, we invite you to:

  • Reflect on the importance of education that promotes inter-cultural and inter-faith learning, dialogue, ethical reflections and collective actions by children.
  • Identify opportunities to transform education to contribute to global citizenship and peaceful and inclusive societies.
  • Explore the lessons learned from the Ethics Education Fellowship in empowering teachers and learners through integrating ethics education.

The Ethics Education Fellowship is a unique collaborative effort to promote ethics education to contribute to global citizenship and building more inclusive and peaceful societies.

It was launched in 2022 by Arigatou International, the Guerrand-Hermes Foundation for Peace, KAICIID, the Muslim Council of Elders, the UNESCO New Delhi Office, and the UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa, with the support of the Ministries of Education of Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, Mauritius, Nepal and Seychelles and the respective UNESCO National Commissions. Through the Ethics Education Fellowship program, 323 teachers were trained in this first phase, successfully reaching 7,334 children across all six countries.

The discussions will feature sharings by the aforementioned speakers from the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe, UN-mandated University for Peace (UPEACE), Ministry of Education Seychelles, Indonesian National Commission for Unesco and moderated by UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa, followed by an interactive Q&A with the audience.
