Arigatou International participated in the 10th World Assembly of Religions for Peace that took place from 20 to 23 August in Lindau, Germany.
Under the theme “Caring for our Common Future ̶ Advancing Shared Well-being,” the Assembly brought together 900 senior religious leaders, youth and women of faith from 125 countries, as well as 100 representatives of governments, intergovernmental organizations and civil society groups.
The participants engaged in dialogues about how multi-religious action can contribute to resolving violent conflicts, advance inclusive citizenship, promote integral development and protect the earth.
Rev Keishi Miyamoto, President of Arigatou International, attended the meeting, accompanied by Ms Maria Lucia Uribe, Director of the Arigatou International Geneva office, and Mr Hironari Miyamoto, Executive Assistant, Tokyo Office.
The event was organized in partnership with the Foundation Peace Dialogue of the World Religions and Civil Society, with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office and the Bavarian State. Arigatou International was glad to support the participation of some children to the Assembly.
