New Release: Learning to Live Together – An Activity Booklet for Children during the Covid-19 Pandemic

As a part of our response to the covid-19 pandemic, Arigatou International Geneva launched a new booklet with activities for families with children between 4 and 18 years old.

The 35 activities proposed in this booklet aim to help strengthen family bonds, nurture children’s spirituality, and provide learning opportunities for them to reflect on ethical challenges, develop their imagination and critical thinking, and think of concrete ways they can still connect with one another, while still practicing safe physical distancing.

Many schools today are providing online learning for their students, with a focus on following the curriculum and with little emphasis on socio-emotional learning. Also, many materials available for parents and caregivers are focused on entertaining their children or keeping them busy.

This booklet can be used as a tool to encourage children to reflect about themselves, their relations with others, and the current situation, helping children make sense of the new reality, feel empowered, and find purpose. At the same time, they can help parents and caregivers reflect on the family environment in which children are being shaped, and help improve violent or neglecting ways of raising children.

The activities in this booklet are an adaptation of those found in the Learning to Live Together manual, which has reached over 410 thousand children from diverse ethnic, social, cultural and religious backgrounds in more than 40 countries, since its launch in 2008.

We invite you to download the booklet here, explore the activities with your children, and share it with your community.
