Job Description

The Arigatou International office in Geneva, Switzerland manages the Ethics Education initiative through its enhancement, further development, and partnerships. It also serves as the liaison office with UN agencies and child-rights-focused NGOs.  The Administrative Assistant is in charge of assisting the Director in the overall administrative work in order to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the functions of the Arigatou International Office in Geneva.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide secretarial and administrative services;
  2. Manage petty cash and prepare expenses reports;
  3. Handle correspondence and phone calls for and on behalf of the supervisor;
  4. Handle time schedules and travel arrangements; 
  5. Organize and properly maintain computer-based and paper files;
  6. Assist with human resources tasks;
  7. Prepare shipping of materials to various destinations;
  8. Assist in the logistics and preparation of conferences and events;
  9. Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

The candidate should have:

  • Degree in Business Administration or a related field;
  • More than five years of experience in secretarial office work;
  • Organizational and analytical skills;
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook);
  • Knowledge of Internet applications;
  • Excellent written and spoken English and French, working knowledge of Spanish is desirable;
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Discretion and diplomacy

Reports to: Maria Lucia Uribe, Director Arigatou International Geneva

Duration: This is a 30% time position.  Initial contract for one year

Location: Arigatou International, Geneva, Switzerland.

Compensation: Salary in line with other international NGOs. No relocation assistance is provided. Applicants should be able to work in Switzerland.
